Constructing Opportunities is designed to help people build their employability skills to find and maintain employment in the construction industry.
Each participant will:
- Complete two weeks of orientation and eight weeks on-the-job training;
- Complete an additional 10 weeks with Constructing Opportunities or other transitional job;
- Learn construction skills and help build/renovate a home for an income-qualified family;
- Be paid $7.25 an hour up to 24 hours per week;
- Complete Fork Truck Operator's and First Aid certifications; and
- Complete a 10-hour OSHA safety construction training.
